In 1907 the Hot Springs Catholic Improvement League met with Bishop John Morris and received permission to begin planning a new parish in the Spa City. In 1908 the parish and school took shape and on Oct 4th the parish was formally dedicated. Since that day the faith of many generations has grown on this hallowed ground. As we celebrate our Centennial may God continue to enliven his family at St. John's parish.

Lord God, we thank you and we praise you. In the last one hundred years you have blessed our parish in many ways. Help us never take for granted the strong foundation of faith we have.
As we celebrate the centennial of St. John's give us the grace we need to continue the work of the Church. Many faithful people have gone before us and we ask you to bring those souls to your loving heart. Bless the families of our parish today. Help us follow the example of St. John the Baptist and prepare the way of Jesus in our own day. Guide and protect us for the years to come.
